Furious storms of life can throw curve balls you are unprepared to catch. These balls could rock your boat and throw you off balance. I’ve had my fair share from facing disappointments and losing family members.
Is there a furious storm in your life?
The storm raged, my heart ached but in all storms, God’s plan remains perfect. In the middle of the storm, I became the clay in the hands of the Potter, gracefully broken, shaped by Love, and healed from the inside out. Jesus picked up the broken pieces of my heart and silenced the storm.
What furious storm is rocking your boat? Listen up! Jesus Christ is still in the business of calming the storms. Like a flood, He will raise up a standard against the enemy and no weapon formed against you shall prosper.
Firm Promise: You Will Get to the Other Side
Just before Jesus got into the boat, He told the disciples “Let us go over to the other side” (Mark 4:35). This was an instruction and a promise. The enemy threatened them with a storm, hoping he could destroy their sail and anchor, causing them to shipwreck. Why? On the other side there lies your purpose and blessings.
- It was after crossing over to the other side, Jesus gave the disciples authority to deal with evil oppositions and heal the sick.
- If the enemy can use life storms to shipwreck your hope, your destiny will die in the storm.
We may be unable to see through the storm or understand when it will end but hold on, in the storm you will be shaped by the Potter; God will turn around all things for your good. He knows the end from the beginning and is in control of the storm. I crossed over to the other side just as He promised. When the enemy send storms in your path, he is scared that God is making you into a vessel of honor through which His power and glory will flow, to lead others to Him.
Be Confident: Jesus is in the Boat
Jesus is not a Sailor who will abandon His boat. “We have this hope an anchor for the soul, firm and secure” (Heb. 6:19). When you go through the storms of life, Jesus will not forsake you. The storm was never meant to break or destroy you. Let Jesus be your anchor and be confident that the good work He has begun in you, He is faithful to complete it. His plans to prosper you remains unchanged, storms cannot stop it, it may cause a delay but the plans of God for your life stands firm forever.
Be anchored in the storm, you will get to the other side.
